My 8-bit Home Computer Games (1981-1986)
I am author of several bestselling
home computer games from the 1980's, including:
CRISIS MOUNTAIN
DINO EGGS
SHORT CIRCUIT
and
HO! HO! HO! Five Family CHRISTMAS
GAMES.
Updated June 2026: I am now revisiting the 8-bit code I wrote over 40 years ago,
creating Special Editions for each of my original games.
Each Special Edition will add many new features and variations to the original.
Some of these features I've had in mind since the 1980's.
Some are crazy new ideas for each game added just for fun.
Each Special Edition will be in .DSK format, playable on all Apple ]['s and Apple ][ emulators,
staying true to the original Apple's 48K RAM, 1 MHz speed, and those wonderfully huge hi-res pixels.
When complete, each game's DSK file will be available for download and sharing from this website.
This project will likely take years.
Please contact me if you: -- are interested in helping test one or more of these Special Edition games as they reach alpha/beta. -- have ideas about how best to spread the word about them. -- have thoughts on how or where the final DSKs can be archived or sold.

Saving the dinosaurs
from extinction
-- one egg at a time -- since 1983
Dino Smurf (1983)
DINO
EGGS (1983) was also known to many as
DINO SMURF.
DINO SMURF
-- a widely-distributed parody of DINO EGGS (and of course Smurfs) -- was
the first part of a planned trilogy of hacked games by
Dead Smurf Software (Andrew Johnson and Preston
Nevins). Castle Smurfenstein (Castle
Wolfenstein) was the second part of the trilogy.
In DINO SMURF, Time
Master Tim became Smurf Butcher Bob, as he tried to save
his children by going back in time and destroying the smurf's prehistoric ancestors (including the now extinct
orange smurfs).
